Every section below is one setting combination. The italic line under each heading says what to look for. Nothing here is decorative — if a section looks wrong, that combination is broken.
1 · Visible count
1 visible
One image at a time. Arrows step it; the deck should never show a second frame.
2 visible
Two side by side, moving as one row.
3 visible
Three side by side. This is the default width.
2 · Transitions
Slide (3 visible)
The row slides one cell per step. Nothing below should move.
Centre stage (3 visible)
A centred hero with a flanking card each side. The centre cell is the focus.
Carousel flow (3 visible)
Depth-scaled flow. Needs an odd count for a defined centre.
Fade (1 visible)
A cross-fade in place. Stack transitions need a single frame.
Pixel reveal (1 visible)
THE NEW DISSOLVE. Cells should carry the INCOMING picture — you should never see a flat white square between the two images.
3 · Autoplay
Autoplay ON
Rotates on its own every 4s. A pause button is present.
Autoplay OFF
Never moves by itself. Arrows still work; no pause button.
4 · Manual controls
Manual controls ON
Arrows present, and swipe works on touch.
Manual controls OFF
No arrows. Autoplay still runs and the PAUSE BUTTON MUST STILL BE THERE — that is the accessibility requirement.
5 · Control visibility
Controls: Always
Arrows and pause visible at rest.
Controls: On hover
Chrome-free until you hover or tab in. On a touch screen they stay visible — an invisible control you cannot summon is no control.
Controls: Hidden
No arrows at all. On a MOUSE the pause button is invisible until you tab to it; on a TOUCH screen it is visible, because touch cannot hover. Check this one on a phone.
6 · Pause on hover
Pause on hover ON (default)
Rotation stops while the pointer is over the block.
Pause on hover OFF
Keeps rotating under the pointer. Focus and the pause button must still stop it.
7 · Image fit
Fit: Cover
Images fill the frame and crop.
Fit: Contain
Whole image visible, letterboxed. This one was broken before — Contain was ignored on bundled images.
8 · Linked video (lightbox)
First image links to a video
Clicking the first image should open the video lightbox, not navigate away.
9 · Text rotator
CSS transition (fade up)
Zero JavaScript. Only one line should be visible at any moment, including the very first frame.
Script transition (decrypt)
Scrambles into place. Every character should be junk at the first frame, resolving left to right.
Script transition (pixel reveal)
Covered, swapped and uncovered as one move.
